What a week!

Wow.

I still don’t know how we’ve done it but we did! We somehow condensed 8 shooting days into 5, including constantly changing weather conditions, script adaptation and two sick persons.

It was a lot of work to set the rooms as we wanted because all the furniture was old and heavy – and the strength of each one of us has decreased dramatically the last weeks.

Imagen

We also needed some extras for a couple of shots and luckily there were some familiars there around too!

Imagen

That turned out to be crucial because their only presence made us laugh so much that we forgot how tired we were.

Imagen

We also have to thank again to the Urquijo-Montoya family – including dogs.

Imagen

They have supported us so much all this time, letting us be at their place for shooting and giving and offering so much from their own. Without you, it could not have been possible!

Too many options!

Knowing that it was imposible to decide all the locations in advance, the script had left some open space for concrete moments located in the Basque Country. That would be perfect condition for being spontanious if it wasn’t because there are too many cool location possibilities here!

It’s easy to imagine a little dialog in every corner we are seeing these days.

On the other hand, we are still looking for ‘the house’ – the main location of the film. We are getting close to our last week and there are too many things to do! The body – and the brain – are beginning to get exhausted…

Au Voleur!

Today we had a scene in a small supermarket. It was surprisingly easy to find it – we just stopped the night before at the little épicerie of the camping for buying some props we needed and decided to try it.

Imagen

When we contacted Christophe – the owner of the épicerie– and told him what it was about – in the scene the protagonists make a plan for stealing – he laughed out loudly: he had personally experienced that same situation in real life!

Imagen

He was really nice letting us shoot inside during his rest hours. Thank you so much, Christophe!

Two to Toulouse

We are looking forward to arrive to the Atlantic coast of France but we couldn’t miss the chance to stop in Toulouse and let one of those good old friends give us some good tips of where to go for a beer.

Imagen

We wanted also to use the ocasión for shooting a scene located in a bar – Toulouse has some of those – and even put Nico in the role of the nasty boss.

But something that looked so easy considering the place, turned to be more complicated as we thought. What a pitty – we all agreed that he would have been a great choice.

Finally we have just enjoyed a night out in the city and moved on. We would have stayed longer but we can not afford to spend more time without getting material for the film.

De tout façons, merci beaucoup Nico!

1st shoot

we can officially say that we are shooting a movie!

the first shoot was exactly as it is supposed to be: a chaos. The Mercy scared us to the bone as it suddenly didn’t shut off the emergency lights and we thought we would have to take it to the garage for the weekend, the ‘angry driver’ of the scene couldn’t wait for so long, so we had to find a new one – with his own car – and all this, when the sun was already going down…

but we managed it!!

thanks to a good screwdriver movement of Martín, and Oskar and Asha (cheers guys, we owe you a good dinner) we got the first shoot on time. Have a look!

finally on the road

So we finally left Berlin.

It was a funny day, testing how the camper works and meeting interesting people; we were waiting for the ferry for crossing to Denmark when a smiling redhead guy approached and asked if he could take the ferry with us. We invited him to jump in and actually ended up driving him to Copenhagen.

We also had the opportunity of sharing with him our first meal in the camper; it wasn’t a very sophisticated menu but good for the time we had to wait…

Imagen

Jean-Francois and Ibon, happy to have a full plate. (yes, the plate with most soup in it is mine)

We arrived at Amalies place quite late and tired but with a big smile, seeing that slowly everything comes up together. Tomorrow is still preparing day but for the first time we are all going to be there! YEAH!

Unstoppable !!

We have camera!

Arriving directly from Bilbao, just in the right moment, like the superheroes do, Ibon has organized a camera. It wasn’t so easy as it may look, considering he is a camera man, but he did. The pre-production is giving us lots of surprises – not all bad ones – but we keep on working on it.

Now we are unstoppable – and I mean it quite literally: we also found a camper for the trip. Cool thing if it wasn’t because we also found out that both brakes are broken!!

The old Franky is going to be our home for the next weeks through Europe as soon as it comes out from the garage.

Franky

Now we still need THE car that is going to appear in the film; if it’s from the same generation as the camper it’s going to be a looooong trip

No camera, no film

ouch… are you serious?!

the person who was supposed to rent us the camera has suddenly said no, just like that, after having accepted and confirmed it during months!

We are leaving in one week and transportation and location issues aren’t still clear at all, but THIS is definitely not good. You can not make a movie without a camera!!

We had obviously planned to have a spare camera but not thinking on using it as the main one due to its less picture quality… so now we have a new task in the to-do list.

The whole team meets in exactly seven days in Copenhagen (Denmark), including people of Buenos Aires (Argentina), Bilbao (Basque Country) and Berlin (Germany). We have to act fast and get things done – it would be very shaming to greet them empty-handed.
